Description
A traditional Moroccan jelaba rebuilt for the street. The black and white striped fabric is the one you see in the old medinas, cut here into a relaxed modern silhouette and finished in deep black.
The stripe is woven fine and tight, a pattern that has been part of Moroccan dress for generations. We keep it exactly as it is and let the contrast carry the piece. The trims, the placket and the cuffs are finished in plain black, which frames the stripe instead of competing with it.
The collar carries the Glory Flower, embroidered by hand. It is the detail that marks the piece as ours, and it is the only ornament on the whole garment.
Everything is made by hand in Morocco, in our own atelier. The cut is oversized and unisex, easy over a t-shirt in summer and over a hoodie in winter, and it reads as well with trainers as with something more formal.
